Launchpad Innovation Centre

The wayfinding system for Launchpad, the innovation centre at Southend Business Park, has a concept inspired by the simplicity of the architecture.

The wordmark features an elegant stencil typeface that has angular shapes that take their cue from the overlapping forms of the building in plan view. Positioned vertically at the main entrance, it subtly suggests a lift-off point.

 

A minimalist approach was sought for the graphics that would allow the interior architecture to take centre stage. A vibrant colour palette provides coding for each floor level, while symbols, extended arrows, and text used for the graphic treatments on the walls go some way towards making the spaces hip and unconventional.
